ICE CUBES: When you apply ice cubes on the affected area, it could benumb the nerves which are responsible for the pain. You could even wrap the ice cubes in a cotton cloth and massage your cheek or aching area for about 10 minutes to ease the nerves. This natural method does not include any side effects and so you could immediately grab ice cubes if you are feeling pain in your teeth.

SALT-WATER: A simple mouthwash could be prepared by adding salt to a cup of hot water. You could just use it to rinse around the mouth for a few minutes to get rid of toothache. When you swish around the mouth, it would cleanse the infected tooth and take out the fluid which is the reason for the swelling. You should ensure not to add too much salt to the hot water.

CLOVE OIL: Clove oil helps in calming down the nerves. Known as the traditional remedy, it could help treat a toothache. This is naturally possible because of the chemical compound called eugenol, a natural anesthetic present in clove oil. All you have to do is to pour two drops of clove oil on a cotton ball and then keep it on the affected tooth for a few minutes. On the other hand, you could simply chew a whole clove or use grounded clove powder instead of clove oil to reduce the pain. However, you should be cautious as clove oil or powder would lead to severe pain if you are an ache on the sensitive gum.

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR: All you need to do is to soak the cotton ball in apple cider vinegar and place it on the infected area and let it for a few minutes. Since apple cider vinegar has effective anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties and malic acid and acetic acid, it helps clean the infected area. You could even simply swish it around the mouth to wash out the toxins from the mouth. It would also help in retaining the natural pH level as well as treats the bacteria present inside the mouth. CAYENNE-GINGER PASTE: Both cayenne and ginger would act as natural painkillers to reduce toothache. To prepare a fine paste, you have to add an equal amount of cayenne and ginger in a blender and add some water to make it a paste. You could now take a cotton ball and dip it in the paste and put it on the toothache to get rid of the aching.
